Detail: Cannot get cooling fans to turn on for radiator???
Solution: My fans work I changed the thermostat got new relays but my fan still won't go on my car still over heats , HOT WIRE TO SEE IF COOLANT FAN TURN ON IF NOT COOLANT FAN MOTOR IS FAULTY.IF COOLING FAN TURN ON.YOU HAVE FAULTY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR.FAULTY FAN WIRING OR FAULTY PCM. , The cooling fans won't run until either the engine coolant temperature reaches about 218 degrees or the air conditioner/defroster are on. Once the engine reaches appx 218 degrees the fan will come on and run until the coolant temperature drops a few degrees and will then turn back off. If either the a/c or defrost are turned on then the cooling fan will begin to run to remove the heat from the a/c system and should stay on until either is turned off. If the engine is overheating in slow or stop and go traffic then the fan may not be working at all due to a bad fan motor or blown fuse. , Hi, a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two. Goodluck! , The fans come on only when hot or the AC is on. There are many fuses that have to be good for it to work. The fan relay should have 2 pins hot with the key on, The other 2 should be ground. with the key off one should be hot and the other can then be ground the other pins that are ground one of them is the fan. the other becomes ground when the computer turns the fans on. If you don't have a pin thats hot at the relay all the time then theres a blown fuse or even the power wire from the battery at the battery , As long as the fan eventually shuts off this isn't a problem, the fan will continue to run for a bit after the car is turned off, once it reaches a set temprature it will turn off.
