KIA Consumer Assistance Center 1-800-333-4542. Recall notices were to go out in May/June 2009. , did you ever get this fixed, i am having the same problem with mine, what was wrong with it , HI, I have a 2006 Kia Sorento XS 2.5 Diesel that wont start. The engine cranksover but it just wont fire. I have hjad it to two diagnostics garagres and both times it comes back with no faults found. The first garage suggested the crankshat sensor which was changed but to no effect. It is currently still at the second garage. A couple of people have suggested the immobiliser might be the problem and I have read today on these pages that disconnecting the battery overnight maight cure it. I did remove the battery as it was flat after repeatedly trying to start it, and recharged it but cannot remeber which order the leads were reconnected. Dies this matter? Someone else has suggested the ECU. Is there any way to test this out. Any other thoughts are much appreciated Thanks Stuart , I have the same problem with my 2011 Kia Sorento. I have been googling it and I think it may be a bad brake sensor switch. Going to take it to the dealership on Monday. I had my battery tested (which I had replaced about 3 weeks ago) and it was fine. I found a video online that shows how to bypass the brake sensor . Push the start button once and then again and hold it the second time for about 15 seconds until it starts. Mine started right up
