Detail: I have a 2009 Town and Country van. It is locked and the key fob will not unlock it. No lights flash or anything when I press the unlock buttton. My extra key fob will not open it either. The owners manual is inside. It is memorial day and no dealerships are open. My purse, phone and food is in the van!
Solution: Remove the keyring from the fob open it and replace the watch battery in it , The key fob has an actual key inside that slides out of the remote which you can then use to open the door should the remote not work. I had the same thing happen to me when I first owned our 2008. There is a tiny lever on the front of the remote that slides over "unlocking" the key inside so that you may slide it out to open your door. The loop on the end of the remote for your key ring is attached to the end of the hidden key. I know this is too late to help the person posting the question but perhaps it will help someone else who finds themselves in the same situation. You'll need to replace the button cell battery inside, which in itself is a pain. The design makes it quite difficult to remove the battery. My husband ended up using needle nose pliers to carefully pull the battery out. , Hi, A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
