Solution: Check your coolant level visually by removing the radiator cap (only when it is cold). Also make sure the coolant temperature sensor for the cooling fan is functioning properly. These are set to operate the fan when the engine coolant reaches a predetermined temperature. These go bad in time and need replacing. Goodluck! , you have a broken or stuck temp blend door in the heater case. or the servo motor is broken. this sits on top of the heater case , , you might need a stethiscope to hear where this is coming from could be a idler or maybe the tensioner or maybe the alternator .. none of these would bother power , My 2000 Sable starts blowing hot air about every 6 months. I mean like an oven. All I do is disconnect the battery negative terminal for about 5 minutes. After I re-connect the problem is solved.
